JEE Mains 2020 Paper 2 and 3 result have been announced on January 23. A total number of 138410 for BArch and 59003 for B Planning candidates were registered in this examination. Out of which 112679 candidates appeared for BArch and 44517 candidates appeared for BPlanning. The paper 1 (BE/BTech) result of JEE Main 2020 was declared on January 17 (Friday) along with the final answer keys for Paper 1. The final answer key of JEE Main 2020 for Paper 2 (BArch) and Paper 3 BPlanning has been released on January 23. The JEE Main Paper 2(BArch) and Paper (BPlan) was held on January 6. The second phase of JEE Main 2020 will be conducted from April 5 to 11. Eligible candidates will be able to fill JEE Main 2020 application form for Paper 2 between September 3 and October 10, 2019. This year, the authority is conducting JEE Main 2020 for three papers - BE/BTech (Paper 1), BArch (Paper 2), and BPlan (Paper 3). According to the new JEE Main 2020 exam pattern, the BArch and BPlan have been separated. Aspiring candidates are allowed to appear for both or either of the sessions.

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 Important Exam Day Instructions

It is clear the Part 1 and Part 2 of the JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 will be held in the online mode and the part 2 that is the drawing section will be held in sheets – offline mode.

  • 30 questions: Mathematics (Part-1) = 120 marks — online
  • 50 questions: Aptitude test (Part-2) = 200 marks — online
  • 2 questions in drawing = 70 marks — Offline

Now for the exam day here are the special instruction s for the candidates who will appear in the paper 2 exam:

  1. Own Geometry Set Allowed: Candidates are allowed their own crayons, color pencils, erasers, pencil colors, pencils etc.
  2. Water Colors Not Allowed: Colors are allowed, however, watercolors will not be allowed.

These 2 exceptions are available for the paper 2 candidates that are not given to the paper 1 appearing candidates.

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 Admit Card

Now, there is no separate admit card for paper 1 or paper 2. You get 1 admit card that clearly mentions for which paper you have applied for. This one admit card will be valid for both paper 1 and paper 2 for the candidates who will appear for both the papers in JEE Main 2020 Paper 2.
JEE Main 2020 a dmit card is available in the online mode only. Candidates have to log in using their application ID and password to get the admit card. On the admit card you will be able to see the following:

  • Final exam center details
  • exam timing, personal details
  • JEE Main 2020 roll number
  • your photograph
  • signature
  • other exam related instructions.

If you have applied for both paper 1 and 2, then you will be able to check the schedule of both the exam on your admit card. You have to appear at the test center as per the schedule in your JEE Main 2020 admit card.

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 will be quite different from that of JEE Main 2020 Paper 1. Thus, it is important to know what will be the pattern of the exam, from the brief explanation below:

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 Syllabus:

Part – I: Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials.) Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build~environment. Visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualizing. different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).

Part – II: Three dimensional – perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms, and elements, color texture, harmony, and contrast. Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of forms both 2 D and 3 D union, subtraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of Plan, elevations and 3 D views of objects. Creating two dimensional and three-dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.

Drawing Section: Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles. gardens, trees, plants etc.) and rural life.

Note: Candidates are advised to bring pencils, own geometry box set, erasers and colour pencils and crayons for the Aptitude Test.

JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 Application Form Correction – Over

NTA will be opening the application form correction window as the last opportunity to rectify any mistakes in the application forms. The window will be opening on October 08, 2018. Candidates need to log in using their application number and password to make corrections in their application forms.

This is a one time opportunity. Thereafter the details finalised on the form will be only used for admissions.

JEE Main 2020 Application Form – Over

The JEE Main 2020 Application form will be available in the online mode only in the official website of nta.ac.in. Now, the process of application for Paper 1 and Paper 2 will remain the same. There will be one application form available and candidates have to select for which paper (1 or 2 or both) they wish to appear for.

  • To fill the application form candidates have to register first and then fill asked details like Aadhaar details, personal and educational information, uploading documents etc.
  • Next, to submit the filled in application form candidates have to pay the application fee online.
  • On paying the application fee, an acknowledgment page will appear containing application ID.
  • Note the application number.
  • Take print out of the submitted application form, do not send it to the authorities. Keep it for your reference.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 Eligibility Criteria

There is no difference in JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2 admissions. Just that if you qualify Paper 1 you will be able to take admission in B.Tech/B.E. courses and become eligible for JEE Advanced examination. However, if you qualify the Paper 2 exam you will be able to take admission in B.Arch/B.Plan courses at institutes other than the IITs. If you qualify in both the exam, you have to select your course of study ( B.Tech/B.E. or B.Arch/B.Plan).

Below are the eligibility criteria :

Age Limit – No age limit.

Educational Qualification – The candidate must be appearing/appeared Class 12th or its equivalent examination from any recognized board. Also, the applicant should have Passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Number of Attempts – No attempt limits.

Subject wise syllabus of JEE Main 2019 for paper 2 is given below for the candidates in detail:
 

Part I

Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials. Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build—environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising. different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).

Part II

JEE Main Paper 2

JEE Main paper 2 is conducted to invite admissions into undergraduate courses of B.Arch and B.Planning into various NITs and GFTIs. The 3 hour long paper will have three sections of Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing. Candidates will be required to attempt the first two sections in CBT mode while an offline(pen and paper based) test will be held for the drawing section. Only those candidates who will fulfil the revised eligibility conditions notified by the authorities will be eligible for admissions.

Candidates are advised to go through the exam pattern along with the JEE Main syllabus 2019 to get an idea about the various details related to the paper. Details like mode of the exam, duration, types of questions, etc are provided in the exam pattern of JEE Main 2019 paper 2.

Marking Scheme

Every correct answer will fetch 4 marks, whereas 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. In case of drawing questions, it will be of total 70 marks. The marks for each question will be mentioned along with it.
