Process To Apply Online Winds Up

As many as 84,879 students have filled the complete online forms till 5.30pm on Thursday , the last day to fill the forms for admission to first year junior college (FYJC) courses in the city .

There are a total of 94,580 FYJC seats in the colleges located in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The form is divided into two parts both of which needed to be filled and submitted by Thursday . “While 84,879 students have filled part 1, 78,218 completed part two of the form. We will not be giving any further extension for students who have been unable to fill the forms,“ Meenakshi Raut, assistant deputy director of education of the Pune division, said on Thursday .

For students' convenience, guidance centres were set up in nine zones across Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The centres also helped facilitate them to apply from different boards or from other than Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal limits.

“The students were allowed to fill the online forms until 5 pm on Thursday , after which the link was removed.All unfinished forms will be discarded. The students had been given time to fill both part 1and 2 forms and if they failed to do so, they are out of the Centralised Admission Process,“ Raut said.

According to officials, a number of students did not carry the required documents along when they reached the guidance centre to fill the forms and had to be sent back. “Thursday being the last day , there was a queue at almost all the guidance centres. They were supposed to close by 5pm but we asked them to wait till the last student was attended to,“ Raut added.

While admission to arts, commerce and science streams will be conducted through an online process, there are some admissions which will be done by the respective junior colleges such as HSC Vocational (MCVC), home science, technical junior colleges, night junior college and Hindi and Urdu medium higher secondary schoolsjunior colleges.

Students who wish to take bifocal course as an optional subject for science and commerce must seek admission via CAP.
