Students will get a second chance for admission to first year junior college (FYJC) on Thursday as the Common Admission Process (CAP) panel will declare the second list at 5pm online.
About 55,287 students are eligible for about 67,000 seats in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad colleges.
In the first round, 78,438 stu dents applied for 91,670 seats, of which 48,250 students were allotted colleges. At the end of the first round, 24,663 students confirmed their admissions in the colleges allot ted to them, 325 students cancelled their admissions and 74 admissions were rejected on various grounds. A total of 23,188 students did not report for admission to colleges allotted to them.
“The students can check the colleges allotted to them on pune.11thadmission.net -the official website for standard XI admissions on Thursday . They have to enter their online form number to check the college details,“ Dinkar Temkar, head of CAP committee, said.
Temkar added that it was compulsory for students who had been allotted their first preference of college in the second allotment to take admission in the same college. “If a student has chosen X college as his first preference and gets the same college allotted to him, then he has to take admission in that college,“ he added.
If a student gets a college listed between his second and tenth preference in the application form, they can decide to take admission or not.
