The All India Bar Examination, or AIBE, is a certification exam that is taken by law students after completion of a 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB degree. Those who qualify in the exam are issued the Certificate of Practice (COP), which is mandatory to practice in a court of law in India. To apply for the exam, the minimum eligibility criteria is a 3- or 5-year LLB graduation. The candidate also must be registered with their respective bar councils. AIBE 2021 exam will include multiple-choice questions to be asked from common law subjects and will be available in eleven (11) language options.

The BCI sets the eligibility criteria for the AIBE 2021 exam pertaining to age limit, qualifying exam, and bar council registration. Only if the candidate meets all of these conditions will he or she be considered for Certificate of Practice.
Qualifying exam: The applicant must have passed a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a BCI-recognized institute.
Bar council registration: The applicant must be enrolled with their respective State Bar Council.
Age limit: There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in AIBE 2021 exam
Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
