Careers in Law
A career in law begins with a 5-year integrated BA LLB or BBA LLB after Class 12, or a 3-year LLB after graduation. CLAT is the national entrance exam for National Law Universities (NLUs) — top NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore and NLU Delhi have average placements of ₹12–20 LPA. Specializations include Corporate Law, Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Family Law, and Constitutional Law.
Lawyers can work in litigation, corporate legal teams, law firms, judiciary (judicial services exam), or public policy. The Bar Council of India governs enrollment. Internships at law firms during college are critical to building a strong career foundation.
