Complete Guide to CUET: Exam Pattern, Eligibility & Smart Prep Tips
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is the unified entrance exam for admission into undergraduate programs at all Central Universities of India such as DU, JNU, BHU and others through the NTA. The CUET now serves as a single entrance test instead of individual university entrance tests used previously. This allows you to take one test for hundreds of high-quality universities.
The exam is conducted in a computer based format and is composed of three sections. Section IA / IB: The Language Test consists of 13 different languages to choose from. Section II: The Domain Specific Examination relates to the chosen domain or course.
Section III: The General Test evaluates Reasoning, General Knowledge and Quantitative Aptitude. Each correct answer is given 5 marks and incorrect answers receive -1. Each section has a different amount of time allocated to complete it.
Eligibility: Anyone that has completed, or who is in the process of completing, Class 12 at any recognised education institution can apply to take the CUET. There is no overall minimum percentage requirement at the National level for all you to sit for the exam, but some universities may have their own specific requirements. Smart Tips for Preparing for the CUET Exam: Build a strong foundation in your Domain Subjects, develop your Language Skills and practice taking the NTA's Mock Exams regularly.
